You can convert your old style XtGem site to The new template system in the following wayYou must first make backup copies of the following files
We will not recover any files lost in conversionindex
_header
_footer
_headtags Index files with extensions
(.html .php .amp etc)
will not be overwritten
and are used by the internet BEFORE index files without extensions You do not have to convert your site and old style sites will continue to work as they do now
- WARNING -
ONCE YOU HAVE CONVERTED YOUR SITE THERE IS NO WAY TO GET THE OLD TEMPLATES BACK
After you have made the backups
While you are still logged in
enter this address into your browsers address bar http://xtgem.com/xtgem_templates You MUST then select"Start fom scratch" Do not add navigation links to existing pages or those pages will be overwritten
Add them afterwards from the building tool choose your template and customise it then confirm the changes
Now you can add the code you wish to keep from your backups back in to the new files
copy the classes from your creator_template.css file that you wish to keep to the global_stylesheet.css file
(you must create this file yourself)
Or delete xtgem_template.css and rename your creator_template.css to xtgem_template.css
but do not change templates or this will be overwritten
